Children In Need of Shelter
This is Evangelist Patrick Broh. He is a Gospel musician in Liberia. However, instead
of just performing and enjoying the life of a celebrity, Patrick takes all the profits from
the sale of his music and sows it into his home county (the same as our states here in
the US). Patrick is from Grand Kru, a county in far south Liberia. The further from
Monrovia you go in Liberia, the more primitive the buildings and roads become.
There is less help in the outer regions, so there is more suffering.
Patrick is doing an amazing job of literally snatching children out of the claws of the
enemy. I have seen pictures of children dancing around a man dressed to be satan
in a ceremony that would dedicate them to the enemy. Patrick is going into these
villages and rescuing the children by teaching them about Jesus! He has many
amazing testimonies of life transformation that has come about because God has
touched lives in Grand Kru.
Currently, Patrick is trying to build a shelter for the children who have lost their
parents. Many mother die in child birth, and others die of malaria, cholera and a
multitude of other illnesses. The fathers many times can’t be found. Still others die of
the same disease that take the mothers.
The conditions are so poor in this region that families are not able to take in the
orphaned children. This is where Patrick has come to the rescue. He has tried to
provide clothes and food for the children, and now he is constructing a building to
keep the children off the streets. Here is a picture of the building. The only problem
is that it does not have a roof. The covering you see in the picture is simply a tarp. It
is rainy season in Liberia currently, and this means a tarp will be useless for the
coming months. These children need a solid roof over their heads!
Patrick has contacted Addy’s Hope and asked them for a chain saw. There are
plenty of trees in Grand Kru for them to make construction materials for the roof, they
merely need a chainsaw to make them. The chainsaw he is holding in the picture can
be purchased for $1200. With the hold on adoptions, Addy’s Hope cannot afford to
help Patrick at this time, but we are committed to providing as much care for all
children of Liberia as we can. So we are asking the friends of Addy’s Hope to help
us help Patrick! Any amount that can be donated would be helpful. Patrick will use
any income he has to put with our donation to purchase the chainsaw and build
